THE YELLOW HOUSE

The Yellow House stands for different elements. It is a group of people that found themselves a venue for making art in an old yellow house they squatted. It is situated in the centre of Reykjavik and it has housed lively art events for over a year.
I have participated in this creativity by running the house and curating exhibitions. I also wrote an article on the house along with Unnar Örn Jonasson in the nordic artreview NU. These activities inspired Dorothee Kirch to curate a show in the spirit of the Yellow House as her final project in the Art Academy of Iceland. She got us to make an installation into a little replica of the Yellow House. We assembled all sorts of elements in and around the house: tornado, blood, wings, music, mirrors, pendule, foxes and fire - all of which were elements we connected to the energy in the House.
The group of people were:
Birgir Orn Thorodsen, Darri Lorenzen, Gudni Gunnarsson, Gunnhildur Hauksdottir, Ingibjorg Magnadottir, Melkorka Huldudottir, Radhildur Ingadottir, Unnar Örn Jonasson and I.
